Edge of Eternity coming to Early Access this Fall

JRPG lovers will start their journey in the fantasy world of Heryon on November 29 and enjoy modding tools to customize their adventure

Live from day 2 at Gamescom! Midgar Studio and Plug In Digital’s publishing branch Playdius are excited to announce that their enthralling JRPG adventure Edge of Eternity will go live in Early Access this Fall on November 29.
Following a successful Kickstarter campaign, Edge of Eternity has become one of the most anticipated game within the JRPG communities. After months of intense development, Midgar Studio’s team of nine is now ready to let more players explore the vast lands of Heryon, the fantasy planet where the adventure takes place.

“We have so much to share with the players already”, says Jeremy Zeler, Head of Midgar Studio, “But building this ambitious JRPG is a long journey. We still have a lot to do to deliver everything we want Edge of Eternity to be. That’s why we decided to go live with an Early Access.”

Midgar Studio also unveils today that they have been working on a large set of user-friendly modding tools that will empower the players on the game content. This Modkit will be released in the early days of the Early Access.

As a reminder, Edge of Eternity will feature:
  • An Enthralling JRPG Adventure: A unique, riveting story with numerous plot twists and heart-wrenching moments, supported by an epic soundtrack featuring industry legend Yasunori Mitsuda.
  • A Gorgeous World: Discover an alien world and its unique environments, and unearth the most ancient secrets of the world of Heryon. Solve quests in multiple ways, make your own choices and face their consequences.
  • A Deep & Strategic Combat System: Outwit your enemies in epic tactical combats, use the environment to lure them into devious traps, outsmart and outflank them to inflict massive damage! Craft your gear and inset it with powerful crystals to unlock unique combinations of skills and power-ups.
  • A Cast of Charismatic Characters: Meet a cast of larger-than-life companions, each with their own set of attributes, watch them grow and evolve throughout the story, as you live through it yourself. Discover their dreams, their flaws, their hopes and their torments as you share many special moments with them.

For Kickstarter backers, an even earlier invite is already planned. Backers with the corresponding pledges will be invited to join a private beta this September. Another announcement will be made soon, and invite details will be unveiled with the September Kickstarter update.
